This versatile education forms a solid and interdisciplinary foundation for aspiring industrial engineers and mechanical engineers.
Within the industrial engineering – mechanical engineering degree programme, experienced lecturers not only share their extensive practical knowledge in the fields of mechanical engineering, product and production management, as well as logistics and packaging technology. They also teach important interdisciplinary skills, including technical English and effective presentation techniques.

Here, you enrol as a full-time student with a standard period of study of 7 semesters, but extend your studies individually to a total of 9 semesters.
The study plan shows you what your studies can look like, and we guarantee that there are no scheduling conflicts between modules and that the modules are structured coherently in terms of content and prerequisites.
The slow track allows you to balance work, family, and studies, as your significantly reduced weekly workload can be better combined with your other commitments. It offers you more flexibility to organise professional activities, family responsibilities, or personal life paths alongside your studies.

From 2014 to 2018, Mustafa Kirdök studied the bachelor’s degree programme Mechanical Engineering and Management at Hochschule Ruhr West (HRW). During his practical semester, he directly found the right employer. After also writing his bachelor’s thesis at the Beumer Group, he was taken on after completing his studies. Today, he works as a project manager at the internationally operating family business for intralogistics systems.
From company scholarship to leadership position: In his second semester, Pascal Hauck got to know his employer, Gutehoffnungshütte Radsatz GmbH in Oberhausen, through a company scholarship. After completing his studies, he was responsible as an investment manager for the procurement of large-scale equipment and lathes. Professionally, everything revolved around process optimisation, industrial engineering, specifications, acceptance, and project management. This included communication and collaboration with various departments and suppliers.
