Student self-government consists of the Student Parliament (StuPa), the General Students' Committee (AStA) and the student councils.

The student parliament (StuPa for short) is the highest organ of student self-administration. It is made up of up to 11 representatives of the student body. It is elected once a year by all regular students at the university.

The AStA is controlled by the StuPa. The AStA essentially acts as the executive body in student self-administration. In addition to the tasks mentioned above, the AStA is responsible for day-to-day administration.

The student representatives are groups of student representatives from the respective subject areas who work specifically for them. Here too, elections are held once a year, parallel to the StuPa elections. Their financial resources come from the student body budget. The handling of these funds is controlled by the AStA.
