Prof. Dr Katja A. Rösler: Expert in Vehicle Technology
Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Math. Katja A. Rösler has been Professor of Vehicle Technology at HRW since March 2012. However, her passion for vehicles goes back much further: it began with her first project work optimising a tyre manufacturing process in collaboration with Continental AG, which she combined interdisciplinarily with modelling.
Areas of Work and Research
After completing her studies in Technical Mathematics in just under the standard period of study, Katja Rösler spent a year researching risk and safety analyses at the Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems in Dresden. From 2002 to 2007, she was a Research Associate at the Institute of Dynamics and Vibrations at TU Braunschweig. During this time, she became a mother of two children. In 2008, Rösler earned her doctorate in engineering with a focus on driver modelling.
Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Math. Katja Rösler worked for four years at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg in Technical Development. In vehicle measurement technology (directly at the test site), she developed the simulation of component movement during the process. She led several pre-development projects, supported partner companies, supervised theses and internships, and had the opportunity to test new vehicle concepts firsthand.
Alongside her work at Volkswagen AG, Dr Rösler held a teaching assignment from 2010 at TU Braunschweig on the “Application of Commercial MKS Programmes.”
Her most important hobby is her two children, followed by her fascination with vintage technology: classic cars (VW Beetle) and the restoration of her windmill.
