Prof.in Dr. Jutta Lommatzsch

Expert in Business Law

In 2012, Dr Jutta Lommatzsch was appointed to Hochschule Ruhr West. From 2017 to 2025, she served as the first Dean of Faculty 2 for Economics at the Mülheim campus. Prior to this, she was Chancellor at SRH University in North Rhine-Westphalia, where she remained active on the University Council until the merger of the SRH universities on 1 July 2024.

Following her law studies at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, she passed two state legal examinations in Hamm and Düsseldorf. She also worked as a research associate at the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial and Business Law, as well as at the Centre for Industrial Property Protection at the University of Düsseldorf. She completed her doctorate in 2006 on an (international) transport law topic.

In addition to her role at our university, Prof. Dr iur. Jutta Lommatzsch is a lawyer – Of Counsel – at the law firm Peters Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB, specialising in corporate law, transport law, and energy law.

She is married and a mother of five children.

Alongside family and career, she is deeply committed to private committee work and voluntary roles. She serves as Chairperson of the Academic Society in Hamm, the support association for the universities in Hamm. Within the Rotary Club, she is responsible for organising the awarding of Rotary international scholarships. Beyond her Rotary Club membership, she is an active member of the DGTR and VGR. She also serves on the board of the Elisabeth-Hülsmann Foundation, a charity supporting social emergencies in Hamm, and is involved with OSC, a local sports club in Hamm.
