Ines ter Veer completed a dual study programme at Siemens Power Generation (now Siemens Energy) in Mülheim, earning a Bachelor of International Management from the University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management in Essen, alongside vocational training as an Industrial Clerk (IHK). At Siemens, she gained experience in various roles within purchasing and logistics. Her passion for the USA, sparked during her time as an exchange student, was fulfilled through a delegation to Orlando, Florida, where she implemented German purchasing processes in strategic procurement. Later, she pursued a part-time Master of Business Administration at Steinbeis University Berlin.

Originally, she intended to study teaching and found her way into academia and Hochschule Ruhr West. Her students benefit greatly from her extensive practical experience.
