Expert in International Business Law

 

Prof. Dr Angela Knauer, born in Mönchengladbach, studied law at the Universities of Cologne and Clermont-Ferrand (France) and completed her doctorate in foreign public law. She initially worked in the USA and for the European Union. Afterwards, she practised as a lawyer at a nationwide law firm, first in Cologne and later in Berlin, where she established and managed the new branch office.

In 2001, she accepted a professorship at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). There, she was responsible for legal education in business administration and engineering degree programmes.

On 1 October 2010, she took up a professorship in Business Law at the Institute of Economics at the public Hochschule Ruhr West (HRW). Her research and teaching cover General Business Law as well as selected areas of Special Business Law and International Business Law.

Prof. Dr Angela Knauer also serves as a judge at the Regional Labour Court of Düsseldorf and as an examiner in the public auditor qualification exam.
