Curriculum Vitae

Prof. Dr-Ing. Marvin Kaminski has held the chair for “Fundamental Areas and Microtechnologies in Electrical Engineering” since 2022.

Previously, he worked at the Helmholtz Nano Facility of the Jülich Research Centre. There, he was responsible for process development of complex microstructures in the cleanroom and managed cleanroom operations. Advising researchers and external clients on the fabrication of their structures was also part of his role.

Marvin Kaminski completed his doctorate in 2020 at RWTH Aachen on the topic “Phase Change Superlattices and Thin Film Effects: MBE Growth and Characterization.” His work demonstrated thin film effects in single-crystal films using a combination of in-situ RHEED (reflection high-energy electron diffraction) and ex-situ methods such as XRD (X-ray diffraction). The layers studied were grown by molecular beam epitaxy. This research was part of the Collaborative Research Centre 917 “Nanoswitches.”

From 2008 to 2014, he studied Microsystems Engineering at Westfälische Hochschule and completed his studies with a thesis on microfluidic focusing for cell sorting at Miltenyi Biotec GmbH.
