Prof. Dr Inga Pollmeier – Expert in Production Management and Logistics
Prof. Dr rer. oec. Inga Pollmeier was appointed Professor of Production Management and Logistics at Hochschule Ruhr West in September 2016. Since then, she has represented business-oriented production management and logistics management of value chains in her teaching at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering. Her research interests focus on the management and controlling of supply chains, as well as the advancement of production and logistics management through digitalisation and networking towards Production and Logistics 4.0. She is also interested in sustainability in the production and logistics sectors.
Within the Deutsche Bahn Group, she gained several years of professional and leadership experience by managing projects in strategic environments and optimising processes. She has worked in both rail freight and passenger transport, engaging at strategic, tactical, and operational levels with the creation of logistics services and the improvement and optimisation of processes.
Before her appointment at HRW, she held professorships in Production Management and Logistics at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and worked as a lecturer at the BME Akademie GmbH and as a visiting lecturer.
Her passion for production and logistics management was sparked during her studies in Economics at Ruhr University Bochum. She completed her doctorate there at the Chair of Production Economics on the topic of Strategic Supply Chain Controlling using the automotive industry as an example.
