Library opening hours

Dear Students, 

Starting from 1st July 2025, there will be some changes to our library service hours:

From Monday to Friday, we will offer "limited service" from 4pm to 8pm at the Mülheim campus and from 3pm to 6pm at the Bottrop campus. During these times, services will be provided exclusively by temporary student staff (SAKs), allowing our library team more flexibility to enhance other services outside of our presence at the service desk.

What does this mean for you? During the limited service times, the following will not be available:

- Specialist advice (e.g., research support, special queries)
- In-depth specialist advice via telephone
- Processing of individual special cases (e.g., book replacements, queries about reminder procedures, other special situations)
- Registration of new external users
- Collection and return of interlibrary loan requests

Additionally, from 1st July 2025, the information desk on the 4th floor of the Mülheim campus will no longer be staffed by SAKs. For enquiries, please visit the information and service desk on the ground floor.

What remains available at all times without restriction?
- Use of the entire library as a learning space
- Borrowing and returning items at the self-service machines and service counters (excluding interlibrary loans)
- Cashless payment of any fees
- Assistance with orientation questions
