After completing his Bachelor’s degree in the Human–Technology Interaction programme, Alexander Arntz remained at Hochschule Ruhr West to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science.

Since 2018, he has been working as a Research and Teaching Associate at the Institute of Computer Science at Hochschule Ruhr West under the supervision of Prof. Dr Sabrina Eimler (Human Factors & Gender Studies). His research focuses on the design, development and evaluation of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) systems in various contexts, including learning, education and training, relaxation, workplace assistance, and raising awareness of environmental protection and diversity.

Since May 2019, Alexander Arntz has been enrolled as a doctoral candidate in the INKO department at the Universität Duisburg-Essen. As part of his doctoral research, supervised by Prof. Dr Ulrich Hoppe and Prof. Dr Sabrina Eimler, he is working on the development and validation of AI-based human–machine collaboration scenarios in virtual reality.

Alexander Arntz is a member of the Institute for Positive Computing and a member of the Graduate Institute NRW.
