Workshop Offers from Faculty 4 for School Classes

Interested in lectures on safety engineering that provide an insight into what Safety Engineering is? Or simply want to book your first lecture hall experience? The Institute of Natural Sciences offers school pupils the opportunity to gain new insights into the sciences and to learn about the study programmes available.
You can find all offerings in our overview of events for school pupils.

Gain insights into health and medical technology and explore your interests, skills, and abilities. Experience it up close through hands-on activities and experiments. You will learn about the technology and functioning of various human physiological measuring devices, practice using these devices, and independently conduct small measurement series. Additionally, you will receive exciting insights into current and emerging medical technology applications in healthcare.

Workshop duration: 5 hours
Provides an introduction to the Bachelor’s programme in Health and Medical Technologies

Fast, faster, solar power on wheels!

In this exciting five-hour workshop, you will design and build your own solar-powered car. Besides focusing on the speed of the car, you can let your creativity run free and customise your solar car. At the end of the workshop, you will demonstrate on a racetrack the speed your solar cars can achieve!

Workshop duration: 5 hours or as a week-long workshop
Provides an introduction to the Bachelor’s programme in Vehicle Electronics & Electromobility

Robotics is an indispensable part of industry today—and also plays an important role in safety engineering. In this workshop, you will learn in a playful way how robots are used to detect hazards, minimise risks, and make workplaces safer.
Are you interested in technology, enjoy tinkering, and want to learn programming? Then this is the place for you! In small teams, you will explore how robotic arms work, get hands-on experience, and gain an exciting insight into the world of safety engineering.

Workshop duration: 5 hours
Provides an introduction to the Bachelor’s programme in Safety Engineering

In this workshop, the microcontroller “Arduino” is used, which can be connected to a breadboard to send and receive signals. After a brief introduction to microcontrollers, programming, and electronic components, participants will work in pairs to explore the topic practically.
The workshop begins with building a circuit and lighting an LED. This is followed by the electronic setup and programming on a laptop. Whether it’s a traffic light system, programming a weather station, or a CO2 monitor, Arduino offers numerous possibilities.

Workshop duration: 5 hours
Provides an introduction to the Bachelor’s programmes in Electrical and Information Technologies, Safety Engineering, and Mechatronics
