Person

Marilyn Asmah studied Electrical Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana and completed a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering at TU Darmstadt. She received her doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) from TU Dortmund with a dissertation on the stability of electrical grids under the integration of renewable energy sources. Her particular interests lie in secure power transmission, the grid integration of renewable energy systems, and the application of AI-based methods for intelligent power grids.

She gained professional experience both in industry and academia. Most recently, she worked at Westnetz GmbH in Dortmund, where she was responsible for asset and energy management systems and led a project on sustainable and resilient grid planning. In addition, she has teaching experience, including as a lecturer at Bochum University of Applied Sciences. She integrates her research and practical experience directly into her teaching, placing particular emphasis on solid theoretical foundations and practice-oriented applications.
