The three-semester master’s programme in Computer Science at Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences builds on the curricula of various undergraduate computer science degrees and has an emphasis on research. As a key component of their studies, students are expected to get involved in current research issues and projects pursued by the Institute’s scientific work groups. The curriculum offers in-depth theoretical explorations and project work in the following areas of concentration:

  • Applied Computer Science
  • Energy Informatics
  • Automotive Information Systems
  • Human-Machine Interaction
  • Computational Neuroscience
  • Business Information Systems

This is an advanced interdisciplinary programme combining IT with applications and aspects of energy, mechanical and safety engineering as well as business. Courses are taught by experts in their fields, and students get to work with professors on applied and innovative solutions for the wide-ranging field of computer science. They are encouraged to do independent scientific work by producing their own research, evidence, reports and presentations, but they are also expected to work collaboratively in project teams.
